Marthea Davis is a public relations and marketing communications professional based in the Washington, DC area. With years of experience managing education, legal, and nonpartisan civil rights communications and marketing campaigns, she serves as a resource for nonprofits and professionals seeking strategic guidance with their media relations initiatives. Davis is the public relations manager for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), a global legal association that promotes the business interests of more than 40,000 in-house lawyers employed by over 10,000 organizations in 90 countries. At ACC, she directs efforts to raise awareness of the organizations advocacy initiatives, education programs, and legal resources in business and legal communities and in the media, and develops strategic campaigns that support the priorities of ACCs international membership.
Previously, Davis served as the director of communications for the National Bar Association (NBA), an international bar association representing more than 20,000 African-American lawyers and judges. There she led strategic communications efforts and marketing campaigns for representatives of government agencies and large law firms, as well as key initiatives such as law school admissions, judicial procedure and voter protection. Earlier in her career, Davis trained with talent and literary agents at the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, Calif. and managed communications and key projects for the National Urban League in Houston. She earned a business degree from Howard University in Washington, DC.
