Our Signature Programs

The Hispanic National Bar Foundation believes that knowledge and diversity benefit everyone. In order to provide the tools necessary to ensure full and equal opportunity for Hispanics to become leaders in the global community, the HNBF facilitates programs throughout the year.

Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Institute in Washington DC

The Future Latino Leaders Law Institute is a nine-day program run by the HNBF in Washington, DC and provides selected Latino high school students with the opportunity to learn more about the legal profession. Established by the HNBF in 2005, the Law Institute offers students the chance to come to DC and learn more about the college application process, meet influential Latino leaders, and tour national monuments and various government agencies.

After this experience, I am now connected to a network of Latino leaders. The camp has strengthened my decision to pursue a career in the legal field by showing me more possibilities and pathways than I knew of before.”

University Events

The HNBF partners with schools like Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law, The University of Texas School of Law, and the Florida International University College of Law to establish programs that help college students, high school students, and their parents learn about educational opportunities for Hispanics.

Annual Awards Dinner

Each year we acknowledge outstanding Hispanic leaders in the legal profession that exemplify the values of the HNBF. Our award recipients are distinguished leaders in the legal community who advance the mission of the HNBF in their own unique way.

In 2023, we honored Hon. Ana C. Reyes, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Sergio Pareja, Professor of Law, The University of New Mexico School of Law, and Stephen N. Zack, Partner, Boies Schiller Flexner LLP.

In 2019, for the first time ever, all of our honorees were women. We are extremely proud of Justice Barbara Lagoa, Florida Supreme Court, Lisa Martinez Wolmart, Prudential Financial, Inc. and Noiana Marigo, Partner, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, our 2019 award recipients.

HNBF’s Access Law Summit

A successful company’s greatest asset is its people. Today’s workforce and marketplace represent a dynamic mix of cultures, races, ages and genders. For companies to succeed in the global economy and be responsive to demographic shifts they must attract and retain skilled employees with different experiences and backgrounds

The HNBF’s Access Corporate America Law Summit aims to increase the diversity in corporate legal departments. It is a unique program that invites first-year Latinx law students at top law schools to hear from corporate lawyers on a variety of topics that will give them a competitive edge when applying for jobs.
