WASHINGTON –The Hispanic National Bar Foundation will host its Annual Awards Dinner and Celebration on July 16, 2015 at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC.? Each year, the HNBF recognizes and celebrates the contributions of exemplary leaders in the legal profession at the Awards Dinner.

At this years Awards Dinner, the HNBF will be presenting the inaugural Diversity Leadership award to Dr. Walter Sutton, Associate General Counsel at Walmart.? The HNBF will also be presenting the Judicial Leadership Award to Hon. Migna Sanchez-Llorens, Circuit Judge in the Eleventh Judicial District of Florida, and the Academic Leadership Award to Professor Luz Herrera, Assistant Dean for Clinical Education, Experiential Learning, and Public Service at UCLA Law.

We are proud to honor a distinguished group of leaders for their many achievements and commitment to improving the quality of life in our communities, said Paul Zavala, HNBF President. When selecting candidates to honor, we seek leaders whose contributions exemplify the HNBFs values, including the advancement of education, diversity, equality, empowerment and access.

The Awards Dinner, part of the HNBFs keystone Future Latino Leaders Law Camp Program, will also profile members of the 2015 Law Camp class.? The Law Camp Program selects 40 high school students from across the country to the nations capital for nine days of law related activities and instruction.? Students have the opportunity to learn about the legal profession and meet influential Latino lawyers and judges through classroom instruction, a mock trial competition experience and behind the scenes tours of historic U.S. landmarks and government agencies. The students often describe their experience at the camp life-changing.? Dinner guests will have the opportunity to meet the students and experience first-hand how our programs impact the lives of Latino students.
