The HNBF is gratified by the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision permitting those eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to renew their status. The ruling is a triumph for justice and human dignity. Young people fleeing violence and oppression to find a better life deserve the opportunity to succeed in the United States. This decision restores hope to the approximately 800,000 DACA recipients during a time when COVID-19 is already causing tremendous upheaval. This important decision gives us a renewed sense of hope and optimism.
