2026 Summer Law Camp Report
The Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Camp is a unique program designed to inspire students to pursue careers in law, supporting the HNBF’s mission to increase diversity in the legal profession.
Our 2026 program provided an incredible experience for high school students who traveled from across the country to connect with Latinx lawyers at major law firms, corporations and government offices in Washington D.C.
We were given an extraordinary look into the legal profession. Yet, what I will remember most are the people. Throughout the week, I had the privilege of hearing the stories, experiences, and advice of incredible attorneys… Each conversation offered a different perspective on what a career in law can look like and what it means to build a fruitful career with purpose.”

2025 Summer Law Camp
July 13 – 20, 2025 | Washington, DC
A unique and enriching experience
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the 2026 Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Camp hosted students from across the country in our nation’s capital. Participants were able to network with and learn from prominent Hispanic attorneys, judges, and law professors about the practice of law. The experience culminated with the participants’ Mock Trial at the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
Highlights of the 2026 Summer Law Camp included:
- Meeting with two of Justice Sotomayor’s law clerks in the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Visiting the historic Department of Justice Library and the brand-new DOJ Museum, which had not yet opened to the public.
- Participating in a diplomacy simulation about wildlife trafficking at the Department of State.
- Touring National Geographic’s headquarters, taking part in discussions with their legal team, and visiting their new Museum of Exploration.
- Engaging in panel discussions with attorneys from sponsoring law firms, corporate departments, and government agencies and learning about building a career in a law firm, life as an in-house attorney, and careers in legal public service.
- Attending the HNBF Annual Awards Dinner to recognize the achievements of Hispanics or individuals who contribute to the Hispanic community in academia, the judiciary, law firms and corporations.
- Competing in a Mock Trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, presided over by DC based sitting judges.
Program Impact:
